Week 66, Socorro Ward, El Paso, TX

 Twas the week before Christmas!

Another good week and I can't remember a single thing that happened lol.

We met with our friend Veronica a few times this week and she is a queen! I have barely met her but from what I've heard she has changed so much through Jesus already.

Our friend James is taking steps to follow the word of wisdom which is cool!!

We had a really good lesson with our friend Jazi. He's already a member, but he's starting to come back. We had this senior couple who work with less actives and the spirit was so there!!! I love it!

Had lots of member lessons this week and the members are so awesome!

We have also been working with some less actives and they came to church.

Talked to this guy Marc, he was looking for peace and we didn't even know that when we showed up sharing a message of peace. I love the spirit.

We met lots of cool people and my comp was sick yesterday so we went to church came home and slept and then did two appointments. God answered our prayers and she's feeling better!

El Paso is a great place the people are nice. The weather is cold right now, but really not too bad. Some days you can just wear a light sweater. The ward is so nice and the zone here is great!

Our district had a white elephant gift exchange today which was a lot of fun.

Don't get me wrong, I still have my struggles and personal weaknesses, but I know I can and will overcome them through Christ.

Love yall!

Merry Christmas!!

Week 65: Socorro Ward, El Paso, TX

 Hey yall!!

So last Tuesday was my pday cause we had zone conference on Monday. Anyways, we were doing a big leadership meeting with Elder Perkins Wednesday, so at around 3 we headed up to Albuquerque with all the Sister Leaders in the transfer van. It was fun riding up there. Spending the night at one of the Apts was a bit tiring, but it was a really good leadership meeting! We came back Wednesday evening and sister Baxter and I were both so cranky and done with everything haha.

Sometimes I am just very emotional, this week was one of those. There was stuff that went on with one of the sisters in the zone. We went one exchanges this week which was fun!

We found a lot of new people and potential people. Still hoping lots of them start progressing more, but we are finding a lot, so hopefully we can teach more soon.

For light the world one of the days it was to say kind words or something like that. So I prayed and felt like saying something kind to my dad on Facebook. It was cool cause later he said he really needed to hear that.

I love that God is so ready to direct us!! He is such an amazing father in heaven. He knows me! I'm his little Lexi and he knows my dad and he knows you! Because he knows you he does everything in His power to help us. His love is what changes us. It's what's helps me continue to change.

Saturday, we got a call from the assistants saying that we are moving apartments around and we are switching Apts with the elders. So we cleaned the whole afternoon and packed and then went to our Christmas party. Then came back and cleaned more. We moved out that night. The Elders apt is interesting, so we've been cleaning and organizing a lot. I'll have to show a before and after video later.

It was funny cause normally Elders aren't allowed in sisters Apts, but when you are moving stuff you are. So it was very weird having a bunch of Elders in the apt. But it was low key fun cleaning a bunch.

That's about it! We have some friends we are working with and I will update yall more next week!!

If yall have any advice or good talks to read let me know!

Love,

Sister Crofts

Week 64: Socorro Ward, El Paso, Texas

It was my last week with Sister Long, she is pretty awesome. She left yesterday to go home and even though we were only together for a week and half it was a party! I learned a lot from her, love you Sis Long🥰

This week we did a lot of phone call lessons, some with people in intermediate housing. They were fire! One guy who was bashy in the past called and was interested!! I love feeling the spirit as I teach!!!

We went on exchanges Thursday, which went pretty well. Talked to a lot of peeps.

Friday, we had the stake Christmas party and we invited all our friends. Our friend Jackie came and she is just hilarious. She's not really interested in the church, but she likes the events. One of our ward members performed as Elvis with background dancers it was pretty great. We got a pic with him.

Sunday was great!! We had some friends come to church. The best part was this lady Jackie. Apparently last Sunday she went up and sang a song for fast and testimony meeting. So this Sunday I was sitting by her and she had some song lyrics in her hands, hmm.

She asked me to go up with her. And she sang two songs at the pulpit, one song I don't know and silent night and on the last verse she said for us all to sing along.

It was really funny at first but the spirit was actually pretty strong. And after that so many people got up to bear their testimony. The spirit was actually very strong, but it was hilarious at the same time.

I tried menudo, which Is absolutely gross, it tastes like poop soup.

Yesterday, we had zone conference which was amazing!! Elder Anthony Perkins came and he was so cool! The spirit was so strong. We were doing teaching roleplays and he was calling companionships up to teach in front of everybody, and he called up me and sister Baxter. We taught in front of the whole South of the mission. It was nerve-wracking, but I think we did good!

So onto a new week!

Something I've realized is that whenever I have a spiritual high, Satan tries to beat me down right after and it's really fast. I'm learning to recognize it and try and get him out of my thoughts.

I love Christ! I love his spirit and I love El Paso!

Week 63: Socorro Ward, El Paso, Texas

Hey! So I'm in El Paso now!

I said goodbye to all my homie members in Las Cruces and lots of them gave me gifts which was so nice! Paul and Sophia had us over for a huge Chinese dinner! It was so good and they were so nice! They have since emailed me!! I was ready to head out though, I needed a fresh start, cause new beginnings are fun!

I'm with Sister Baxter my MTC companion and Sister Long who leaves December 5th.

It's been awesome so far, and they are way more organized than I am which helps my inorganization. I'm learning a lot and they are both good teachers so it helps what I need to improve on.

The members here are so awesome! They are so willing to help and they are so nice.

I told the bishop that I could talk whenever he liked and so I was asked to bear my testimony my first Sunday there.

We share the ward with a set of elders and sometimes we have dinners with them at members houses. There's this little boy Moronito and he's like 4 or 5 and he did a push up competition with one of the elders. It was hilarious.

Thanksgiving was good, we went to the El paso Thanksgiving parade and it was fun watching. This one guy was preaching from a different faith and he was wearing a trench coat and a speaker and he was like" come to Jesus" then pointed at us said, "the real Jesús!" It was hilarious. We helped clean up after.

Our Thanksgiving dinner was good. Our member gave us a whole homemade apple pie to take home.

Love yall! I feel very grateful right now for God giving me new experiences.

I love you all!
