Week 59: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

We have had some awesome members who go with us on lessons. Sometimes it's a struggle, but I'm grateful for them. We met with Maria more this week, she came to church on Sunday and is doing well. Last time we went over her grandson threw up in front of us. Fun times!

Wednesday, we went on exchanges and I went with two of the Sisters in Picacho. It was awesome! Our dinner canceled, and so we decided to get pizza.

I gave this one guy our number and the next day he called us and said he was looking for his purpose, we met with him Saturday and it was so awesome!! The spirit was strong and he already read the thing we invited him to read while we were there.

We met these self-referrals, Paul and Sophia. They are from China and are so awesome!  They came to church Sunday and it's a miracle that there are two people in the ward who speak Chinese.

Our friend Tracy came to church and he loved it. He wants to keep going as long as he has a ride.

Two random people have recognized me from Facebook which was awesome!

This week was one of miracles. Normally after baptisms it's a bit slow, but it's been awesome!!!

Love yall and I love this church and I know that Jesus Christ is the head of it

Week 58: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

Hey yall!!

We always find people who are young single adult age and pass them off, so we had some good lesson with ysa people this week!

We met with Skaii and Alii like everyday the whole week, besides Monday. It was a lot to prepare for their baptism, but they were baptized this Saturday!! Wooo! After many pushed back dates it happened. We didn't think their dad could baptize them, but the Bishop talked with him and he was able to!!!  That was so exciting!!

The day of the baptism we filled up the font, but then it sounded like it was draining!! Sister Harper got in the font and was going to check it with her feet to see if she could fix the drain, but she made it worse so she had to get all the way in! Haha I was cracking up, a member walked in and she was like, "oh my goodness!!" Since our apartment is right by the church we ran over and Skaii saw us and was like, "did you fall in the font?" Haha, and when we got back her mom said, "I heard you guys fell in the font, are you okay?" Hahah, fun times

Then, their dad's baptism suit was way too small, so we were scrambling to find one. There happened to be just one in a box that fit! If God wants them to be baptized they are getting baptized. It was awesome! The spirit was strong.

Sister Cooley is the best. We had dinner with her this week and she also let us use her computer to make the baptism program.  It was really crazy trying to make it!!

There was a cat that was trying to get into our apt. We walked around trying to find it's home and it got poop on us haha!

We met this awesome lady named Maria and she came to church and loved it!! Also, I sang in church with a member.

Yesterday's miracle was we were out visiting this random member and we saw this washing machine on the curb in front of someone's house. We were like hmmm, Maria is looming for a new washer. We knocked on the door and decided to leave a note on the washer. We thought nothing of it but then someone called our number on our note! She was down to hearing a message, so we are calling her tonight.

Washing machines can find people for us apparently!

Love yall

Week 57: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 Tabitha was baptized!

The Baptism went well, she was baptized by her husband and was baptized twice and hit her head on the font once haha, but she was okay. She is really excited to go to the temple for her grandma. There was a hiccup though, we thought her husband had the Melchezidek priesthood, because he told us that. However the morning of, turns out he didn't. So someone else confirmed her and he was sad about that. After, his mom yelled at us . Fun times. But we are over it now.

On Sunday, we had the primary program! It's always so sweet and the spirit's there. Sister Mason came to church and we finally have been able to get in contact so the kids are getting baptized this weekend!! That was a miracle.

We've been trying to visit more less active members or members who we have no idea who they are. We met this one lady Cori and she is really cool! She's like bring me back to church, and we are like lets do it together are meeting this Wednesday so we'll see how it goes.

We've had a lot more member lessons, which has been good! Truly members are the key to helping people find Christ and stay in the church.

I was sick this week so one day I slept lot! I didn't have covid so I could still go out among people.

I gave a training on Friday for zone counsel and it went good! The spirit was there and that's what matters.

Anyways,  it was a good week and we've been finding more people, hopefully they will progress 🤞🤞

If not we're planting seeds.

Love yall,

Sister Crofts

Tabitha's Baptism!

It's getting cold in Las Cruses!

Not Covid!

Week 56: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

Hey!

We had a goal of finding 5 new people this week and we did! Woo!

Also, I was praying one night and I had the thought to visit one apartment complex we never go to. The next day we went there and we met a bunch of cool people. Almost everybody we talked to seemed interested! We met this new lady Camila and helped her put up her Halloween decorations.  She is so sweet and has been going through a lot, she is such a genuine soul! We met with her again yesterday and she is so sincere! She's so sweet.

We also met this one lady named Brenda. We were driving down the street and pulled over and said "hi." We asked her what she believes and she said in God and Jesus. We asked why, and she said cause we were there. She started crying and we got out and talked to her. She talked about a bunch of things going on in her life. She said she didn't like organized religion. We said that just like you know God is real you can ask if our message is true. She was like yes I would love to learn more. She's so sweet!

Oh yeah, I'm staying here another transfer with Sister Harper! Big surprise lol. I think I'll be here my whole mission. Which is fine, there's always a lot of work here to do. I felt a little prideful this Sunday with our bishop. He was telling us a bunch of things we should do, some of which we were already doing. I smiled and was like okay. But really inside I was like, we are trying! Does he not think we we are good Missionaries?

Then later I read in Preach My Gospel and it said to take his advice. I was like hmm. Maybe instead of getting offended I can just try and be better. Haha, the lord keeps humbling me. I do have a lot of pride and I'm always being reminded of how weak I am and how much I need to rely on the Lord. I need to so bad!!! If I don't life goes blah.

Tabitha is super excited for her baptism and skaii and alii might be baptized this weekend and maybe next, not sure yet.

I have learned sooo much on my mission and there's so much to learn! Good thing we have this life!

Love yall!!

Week 55: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 This week was very long.

Conference was good, though! I really liked Elder Bednar's talk and elder Rasband. It's always a fun event. Watched it with some members, other missionaries and Tabitha!!

So, we are unable to do Tabitha's baptism on the 22nd, so it's getting moved to the 15th! She is so excited now and she is basically planning it all by herself and she loves it.

Some things were a bit hard this week. We went on two exchanges though which was good. We had a lot of awesome people we got to talk to. Mercedes told us she didn't plan on switching churches, but when we talked about the Book of Mormon and the introduction without even asking her to read it, she said she would read it before next visit. So that was cool.

We always meet a lot of people with really hard lives. One time I had literally no idea what to say to a lady and so I asked a member to share her experience and it was perfect! Miracles.

Met with this awesome lady Kristy, she is 28 and has 7 kids and one on the way. Hahha, has her hands full but seems excited to meet with us.

For some reason I feel like I'm going to leave next transfer  which makes me feel like crying. I can't leave! This is my home now haha. I love all the amazing members here, they are just so full of love and are just kindred spirits.

I've learned more humility this week, which is good cause I still have a lot of pride lol.

Oh yeah, remember Ramon from a while back? We finally saw him again and I was like I need a picture, so I got one! He's still struggling, but I feel like he'll be baptized one day.

The lord is so merciful. I'm so grateful for him.

Love Sister Crofts

Watching Conference!

Ramon!
