Week 54: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 Being human is hard!

Hey! This week was really good! Some very high highs, and some lows, but I'm still kicking so that's good.

Yesterday was fun cause we got to sub for the CTR 4 class with the four year olds. They are so cute and I love laughing at all their crazy things they do.

We talked to this inactive guy yesterday. He hasn't been to church for like 20 years. But he said he should be an easy reactivation. What! Never heard that in my life, nice guy though we are excited to work with him!

We had interviews with pressident Monday and he is the best. I love him. Lots of people in the mission are just great examples of who I want to be.

I'm realizing I don't love being in leadership. Being an STL is not my favorite position, but I guess I'm in it to grow. Which is good! God loves to stretch me.

Skaii and Alii are doing well. Their mom  us a bunch of candy which was sweet. They will be gone for 2 weeks so we hope they are good to be baptized when they get back.

Tabitha is still doing amazing as well. She said she might bear her testimony at church the next Sunday

I caught a toad! Picture below.

Phyllis is this nonmember that we did service for a lot this week. She isn't interested in the church but she needs a lot of help, so we raked and pulled weeds and such. She a funny lady. She also has killer chows. The dogs. They got out once and she was like, "don't move!" So we just stood there fearing for our life as the dogs ran around and sniffed us. We made it out haha. It was funny cause her little grandson is terrified of those dogs, and she wanted him to be😆

Wednesday, I woke up and I was like, it's going to be a day of miracles!!! There wasn't anything too extraordinary, but wow, our attitudes have a huge effect on our days! It was an amazing day because I was thinking positively. Met some nice people.  We met with this guy, Randy. We gave him our card a while back and he wasn't interested. But then he told us he wanted to meet! So we did and he is promising.

We played soccer again! We did a ton of service one morning and fell asleep during personal study twice.

We sat with this one old lady for two hours while we studied. She has dementia and is so cute! I said that I liked Dr pepper and she said she does too, and she was like, twins!!

Friday was a bad day, and that's where the subject line comes from. It's hard being human and just messing up a lot. We just do--no matter how hard we, or I for that matter, want to be perfect. I'm so glad we have Jesus Christ. He makes everything okay and good.

Love yall! I had a 3 hour nap today haha and we played charades,

Have a great week!

Week 53: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 Hey peeps!

Love yall!

We got to meet Elder Anderson Saturday and it was very spiritual. It felt like the temple in there.

It's cool that he's a regular guy, and is really funny! I came with kind of a question in mind and I feel like that was answered.

I know this is Jesus Christ's church. I know that He has Apostles and prophets today and I know that Jesus lives!

In our day, it's not so much about knowing if the church is true or not, but if Jesus is real!

Satan is trying to move us away from Christ and we must do all we can to stay firmly on His rock. That's one of the things I learned.

I love being a missionary, and I am not perfect at all but that's why we need Christ.

Love you all, have the best week!

Week 52: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

Tabitha is doing so well! She is so excited to learn more and to read the Book of Mormon! When we give her something to read she reads it over so many times. We read 1 Nephi 8, Lehi's vision, with her and it was awesome!!

I love how we take, or eat, the sacrament each Sunday. Just like eating is a basic need for our physical body, it represents how Christ is a basic need for our soul. It's true!

It's funny being in an area so long that I see people that I've met in like December and they weren't interested. We met this lady named Amanda and she seemed so different! We haven't met with her before, but it's cool how God doesn't work coincidences.

I went on exchanges twice this week as an STL I went to the Spanish area with the amazing Hermana Medina. We were at a member's house and they  gave us arroz con Leche, rice with Milk. Hermana Medina is lactose intolerant, soo I had to eat both bowls. It was kinda a lot. They asked me if I wanted more and I was like, I already had two bowls haha. THEN they told us that it's lactose free🤦‍♀️. I was like Hermana.. haha

We've been wanting to do a ward activity for a while, just a low key sport one. So we did a soccer night Thursday. Leading up to it I was stressed because we couldn't find really anybody to come. But so many people came! There were lots of investigators there as well. It was so fun.

On exchanges again we talked to this random old lady who could NOT hear us at all. She was busy, so we drove away and parked somewhere. Turns out we parked in front of her house and she beckoned us to come inside, it was really funny and we were basically yelling at her cause she couldn't hear us.

We are trying to help this girl who is not a member and can't be baptized right now. She's been struggling, so we went over to her house with her mom and brother and had a really spiritual lesson. It's all the little moments of the spirit that have built me.

There is a lot I still struggle with that will take time, but I know that the small moments feeling the spirit strengthen us. Christ does this in small and beautiful simple ways.

Love yall!!

Week 51: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 Hey yall!

We did a lot of weeding and service this week. Since monsoon season is basically over, people still have A LOT of weeds from the rain and almost all of the weeds want to kill you aka prick you. One lady we weeded for gave us a bunch of enchiladas for helping her. It was very nice.

Our friend Tabitha is progressing so well! She is so excited to learn and we consistently meet with her three days a week! Queen!

Our friends Skaii and Alii are on date for baptism, but they might take a bit longer. Hopefully not.

It was stressful for me being the only Sister Training Leader. I had to give a training which went okay, and I was just anxious about it. But it will get better! I'm grateful for this opportunity to serve more.

This week was just very long in a bunch of ways. We did service almost everyday and at 7:30 most days.

It's so fun teasing the kids in the wards. There was this one little boy in our ward who ran up to me and gave me a hug.

Also, we talked to some very interested people from Facebook. Both were just phone calls, but some people's lives just don't seem real.

Anyways that's about it. But I would suggest if you think that you want or need a blessing get a blessing!!

Love yall!
