Week 37, Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

This week was good and actually long for some reason.

Our friend Robbe is doing really well! He has a desire to be baptized so we are excited to work with him. He didn't come to church yesterday, though, which was a bummer. But he will next Sunday

We met with a lady named Mary who has an online boyfriend of 4 years. She said that he was from Australia and was in Dubai at some point and has been delayed coming to the states cause he was in a coma from a car accident. It obviously seems very far fetched and the funny thing is that an elder said he's heard the same exact story from someone else who's been scammed before. Hopefully she can realize the truth, it's funny and also sad

We met the CUTEST old lady ever! Her name is Florida and she is so little and so fashionable and she has been going to church for a while and people didn't know she wasn't a member. But her jaw just dropped when we mentioned that the native Americans were decent of the Book of Mormon people. She also kept taking about politics and she asked what we believed. We can't say anything, so she just kept taking.  It was very funny. I don't know how to describe her exactly, but I want to be just like her when I'm old😆

We had a scare and it was 8:30 at night and we were on a dirt road, and I thought I hit a dog. I didn't though which is good.

We went over to a member's house and the whole time she was giving us marriage advice hahah. It was very useful--I just don't need to focus on it right now.

We taught a recent member lesson to the Msonda family and actually taught a lot without a translator! That was cool!! They are learning English pretty well which is cool

Our friend Larry called us up this week and he was like, "when are you guys coming over?" Haha he's very sweet and definitely enjoys having us over. Although he talks a lot, we finally finished the restoration with him!! Woo that's a victory! We all said we would love to see him at church and he was like, okay I'll go hahah.

Our bestie, Sister Hallem returned from Missouri and she asked if she could feed us this weekend and we said  how about the weekend after. She let us know later that she switched with the person so she could feed us this weekend. We were like, wow, she really wants to feed us haha She kept asking if we could change the time too. It was kind of strange

So we walked into her house and I saw a lady filming us and I was like you look familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on it, then out walks my trainer Sister Bishop!!! I was so surprised it was so awesome!!! It was so awesome getting to see her and visiting with her. She's absolutely the best and that was her mom I recognized. It was a huge tender mercy from God because it had been a couple of rough days before that.

We then preceded to go to murder park and talk to a few drunk/high people and it was very funny.

Oh yeah, also we had zone conference!

I read this week is how our personal prayers let us know where we are spiritually. I realized I need to work on talking to Heavenly Father and put more thought and effort in it.

The GPS led us the wrong way at some point and we found lady who was so sweet! We also got a guys number who was on horse back

Love yall!

Week 36: Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

This week was really good! We got a lot of members to help us with our lessons and we had zoom zone conference! It was awesome.

We met with Sonora who is a very sweet old lady and she's interested in finding a new church which is awesome.

The Social Media Leaders needed us to go with them to Hatch and Truth or Consequences (yes, this is the name of a town) for a music video and so we just tagged along for a few hours.

We had three of our friends come to church! And one of them wanted to make it a regular thing. We had a few others come too, but some of them aren't allowed to be baptized sadly.

Oh yeah and last week I mentioned that Mwashite passed away...turns out she didn't, but she is in a coma.  I think it's her time to go and she might be happier with Heavenly Father.

It was a good week and I have definitely seen God answer my prayers. Sometimes I feel like my testimony is weak, but then I'm reminded what is true. God truly is aware of all of us and I know that the little things make a huge difference

Also, we went to an addiction recovery meeting and it was awesome. In case you are wondering, no we don't have addictions, we were just invited by the ones in charge. It was super spiritual and helped me feel closer to Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for change!

As a mission we are starting a forty day fast from things that keep us from the spirit. I'm working on being more positive among other things.

Love yall so much!

Week 35: Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

This week was good! We met some cool people, taught a new neighbor, and had exchanges.

We also dripped a lot of people, which is what we do instead of dropping people. We stop teaching them, but still stay on contact every once in a while.

We met with our neighbor Ruben and his girlfriend. It's cool how many of our neighbors we have taught! I love how sometimes God puts people right in front of you!

We also had an interesting lesson with our friend Jane. We thought she was just a Buddhist who was kinda Christian. But turns out she doesn't believe I Christ and doesn't believe God loves her, so we had to go back to the basics.

I love lots of the members here! I love them and their kindness.

Had sushi twice this week in New Mexico, nice. Haha

Mwashite the older lady who was recently baptized died yesterday. She was in a lot of pain and I'm happy that she doesn't feel it anymore. She's a great lady every though we don't speak the same language. I just hope her family will be okay.

Larry came to church after saying he would a few days prior. He's an interesting fellow,  but I think we just need to show him a lot of love.

Two high schoolers showed up to church! That was awesome and I was impressed with them.

I love yall!! A lot more happened but pday is coming to a close, so adios!

Love Sister Crofts

Thankful for the mission car!

New puppies!

Week 34: Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

We talked to some guys this week and one guy named Poncho, sprayed us with us hose. It was really funny, and hot out so it was nice.

We did a lot more service this week than we normally do! It was super fun and multiple times I forgot to put on sunscreen. Who needs sunscreen?  Well in New Mexico it's already in the 90s so I'm hoping I get tan and my redhandedness doesn't cause me to become a lobster.

We had a lesson with our friend Rob this week. He lives at a group home for recovering addicts and people who lived on the streets. We were just sitting on a bench outside trying to teach him the restoration. This guy Martin rides up and starts saying, praise the lord! It was very funny, but Rob got mad at him. Later Martin rode back out on his bike and fell on his face. As he was on his face he said "praise the lord" and it was hilarious. Also another guy walked up to us and was like, "you guys look like angels! I never seen anyone in Las Cruces who looks as clean as you!" It was very funny.

We met with Evan and Laura again, we were going to stop teaching them, but they had so many questions that it was hard to. So next week we will try🤷‍♀️

We finally met with our friend Henry again!! His girlfriend is a member and her kids  always have so many questions! It's very cute.

We met with Leo again and he wants to start meeting with us. We met a friend of his who is a very less active member and he turned out to be a creepo.  So hopefully we don't see him again.

We painted for Sister Cooley and that was very fun.

We are in finding mode right now for our area. But things are well.

I love you all so very much. Something I'm very grateful for is temples. I'm grateful that God loves us so much to give us more power amd more help in our lives. I'm so grateful for the safety of this church.  We meet with a lot of people who doubt their faith and it makes me very sad. Our mission president said it's good to have questions but we shouldn't have doubts.

I know that I need to hold on the what I know and search for the answers for questions I don't understand. God always wants us to search for more.

I love you all, and to all my missionary friends, yall are doing wonderful, I just know it.

Also, happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms that are such a light in the world.

Week 33: Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 Hola!

We were still sick inside till Thursday, but we have been able to meet with our friend Kenneth this week and he came to church! It's cool the leaps of faith that people take.

We just grinded on the contacts this week, and we went over to this older couple, the Harrahs, for dinner yesterday and Saturday. They are the funniest and have the raunchiest humor, but are very kind.

Anyways not much else happened this week, but I love you all and I know that this work is so important and it feels so good to work hard for other people!

Love, Sister Crofts
