Week 62: Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

 After almost 15 months

The day has come

I'm getting transferred!!

Going to Socorro, Texas!!

Woo and I'm going to be comps with my mtc companion plus another one!

It was weird this week. I was super exhausted and just so tired every moment.

But Paul and Sophia are doing so good! They are going to get baptized December 31!! I love them and am sad to leave them.

It was a huge blessing that God has helped me feel ready to leave. I am sad to leave but I am ready! I feel that I have worked hard.

I love being a missionary and I'm excited for something new!

We went on exchanges with one of our sister AP's and it was fun! I said goodbye to my friends and took pictures with them.

Love yall!

Go on a mission its the best!!

Week 61: Dona Ana and Las Colinas Wards, Las Cruces, NM

Monday we went on the White Sands Missile Range Base! It was fun! We couldn't take our car on base so we had to run around everywhere to visit our members it was so fun!

One morning one of our members called us and said that someone posted a video of us on the community watch page in Las Cruces. We looked it up and some anonymous person posted a zoom video of us knocking on their door and talking into the ring doorbell. They said "missionaries" were out late and it kind of insinuated that we were a threat or something. So there were about 128 comments and several members talking to us about it. Most of the comments were basically negative. We called our mission president because we didn't know what to do. And he just laughed and said any publicity is good publicity for the Church. Haha. We were still a bit irked by it and when we went out to visit people and street contact, people were rejecting us and I was just in a bad mood. As we kept working things got better and we moved on. The lord has my back and helps me be happy.

We did a lot of service this week and painted, cleaned and moved junk around lol.

Also, our friend Tracy is doing pretty well, he has pretty bad adhd so it's hard for him to listen to lessons, but he is progressing slowly but surely.

Paul and Sophia are doing great! We had a fire lesson with them last night and they now have bestie fellowship and understand why they need to be baptized again by the proper authority. We invited them to pray about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. They are such amazing people!

We helped this crazy lady move. Fun times. Just liked everywhere there are some interesting characters.

Our recent converts are doing good. Our friend Skaii is mad at me currently though because I said her brother's drawing is scary and hers was cute. Sometimes I just don't understand haha.

Transfers are coming up and I've stayed so long here it would be soo hard to leave. I just want to stay at this point. Might as well.

I love you all. We are all living sons and daughters of our living God. This is Christ's restored church. And I KNOW that! We are so blessed to know that and follow Christ in his restored church.

Week 60: Las Colinas and Dona Ana Wards, Las Cruces, NM

Hey yall! Happy Halloween week! Our Halloween was pretty chill  We had pday and then we had dinner and watched a movie called, Molly, on zoom with the mission. It was a really good movie.

But the highlight of my pday was my interview with my mission president, he's the best.

The next day we drove down to El Paso for zone conference! That was good, but it also was the day of so many long lessons. Our lesson with our friend Gabriel went well, we taught the restoration and it seemed to go well. He's been on a hunting trip ever since and he's been reading the Book of Mormon! So that's been cool.

We met with our friends Paul and Sophia Tian and they are awesome. Sophia hadn't read the Book of Mormon yet, so we did a recap of the restoration and promised blessings if she would read. The next time we saw her she said she read 12 chapters!! She is so excited to study it and after a third time teaching the restoration, it finally clicked! It was so spiritual and the spirit was palpable.  She printed off 50 pages of the Book of Mormon and she has been reading and studying. They also came to church Sunday and they liked it! It seems that whenever we bring someone to church there are crazy kids sitting all around us--it always turns out good. Sophia was so exited to be there and we are excited to meet with them this week. We are going to be talking more about baptism.

We had our bishop and first counselor come with us to one of our friends house to bless it. She was visibly high or having withdrawals. It was interesting

We have been meeting a lot of people recently, less active members, who have been all having doubts and are at different lengths away from the covenant path. It's just sad! I feel so much light in my life from Christ's gospel, and they are missing that in theirs. I talked to my mission president about this. He said," imagine taking your doubts and reasons for leaving the church before Christ, what would he say? How do those doubts feel now? Is it worth abandoning your covenants? Your promises? Your eternity?" I was like wow! It's true, nothing is worth it.

We have a friend Phyllis, who's not interested but we help her out. She's awesome and very sassy.

We started exchanges Friday with the sisters in the area and also had zone counsel. Woo! Lol we didn't plan anything for that, so we planned 30 min before. It went pretty good I'd say.

Then I was in the Spanish area during the day and that went well.

We mainly had stake conference Saturday and then we had a good lesson with the Mason fam, Skaii and Aliis fam. They are just the best.

Sometimes I struggled this week, but I know God is helping me keep my testimony strong for the many whirlwinds that are going to come before Christ comes

Love yall!
